Challenge to you - Be Aware

Today was a day full of meetings (some productive, most not so much...). Sick child at home and a to do list longer than my arm. I was truly beginning to think that there was nothing good about the day at all. Then I had a thought that if I could just find one moment with some beauty in it, that the day would be perfect. Interestingly enough, when I started to search for that moment I could not find it. Then, driving in my car, not searching for the moment of beauty anymore (I had given up), it hit me! As I got stuck at the fourth red traffic light (getting more and more aggravated with each stop), I looked past the light and saw the most beautiful sunset that the universe had to offer me. It had been cloudy all day and as the clouds were clearing the sky filled with the most beautiful shades of oranges, reds and yellows. All the colors of the Fall foliage that are looking a bit faded here in the Northeast this year. Then, in a moment, the light turned green and I was on my way - with a much different attitude.

I share this with you as a way to remind us that there are always moments of grace in our days, we just have to notice them. We don't have to search or look for them, we just have to be present for them. These moments have the ability to make us truly alive, truly grateful and truly recharged. After all, time is nothing more than a series of moments strung together. Odds are that if you remain totally engaged and present in the current moment, that a moment of grace and beauty will present itself to you; just when you need it most.

Be aware as you take part in your daily activities, even the ones you don't like much. Buried in those activities are these wonderful moments.

Please feel free to comment with examples of your own moments...you can help us all on our journey by sharing. You just might help change someone's perspective to see the beauty in something that they normally would not have.

Namaste',

Michelle

  1. Life is sometimes like an echo. What you send out, you will get back and that is perhaps why we all need to be aware of each moment for what it is - not what it should be.
